Plagiarism Checking Service – The Progress Journals
The Progress Journals (TPJ) is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, originality, and publication ethics. To ensure that submitted research work meets acceptable standards of originality, all manuscripts submitted for publication are required to undergo plagiarism/similarity checking before the final editorial decision.
Plagiarism / Similarity Requirement
All submitted manuscripts must have a Similarity Index of less than 10%.
Authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts are original and appropriately acknowledge all sources, quotations, ideas, data, and other materials used in their research.
A similarity score of 10% or above may require revision and resubmission before the manuscript can proceed to the next stage of the publication process.
Important: A similarity percentage alone does not determine plagiarism. The editorial team may examine the similarity report and the identified sources to distinguish legitimate citations, references, commonly used terminology, and properly quoted material from inappropriate or unattributed overlap.
How the Plagiarism Checking Process Works
• Manuscripts submitted to TPJ are screened for plagiarism/similarity using Turnitin or other authorized/licensed similarity-checking software, as applicable.
• The similarity report identifies the overall percentage of similarity and the sources corresponding to the matched text.
• Authors may be required to revise sections showing inappropriate or excessive similarity.
• Where necessary, a revised manuscript may be subjected to another similarity check.
• The manuscript proceeds through the journal's editorial and peer-review process only after it meets the journal's applicable originality requirements.

Accepted File Formats
Authors may submit documents in the following formats:

• .docx
For manuscripts intended for publication in TPJ, .doc or .docx format is preferred where possible.
Turnaround Time
• Similarity reports are generally generated within 24 hours of receiving the document and applicable payment.
• The report is normally communicated to the author through email.
• Turnaround time may vary depending on document length, submission volume, and technical processing requirements.

Important Academic Integrity Statement
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their submitted work. Proper citation and acknowledgement of sources are mandatory.
TPJ does not consider a similarity percentage by itself to be conclusive evidence of plagiarism. The editorial team may assess the nature, location, and source of the matched content before making any editorial decision.
Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed or improperly reproduced content may be returned to the authors for correction or may be rejected in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and editorial policies.
Similarity Requirement: The overall Similarity Index should be below 10% for manuscripts submitted for publication, subject to editorial assessment of the identified sources and matched content.
